  • The Services Offered

Bonnie's Rainbow Bridge Fund is supported purely by donations and fund raising and offers the following help and advice to owner's before or/and after their pet has been euthanised.

  • 1. We liaise with your vet to arrange for full or part funding towards your pets cremation. We can only help if you refer us to your vet, this is to confirm that details given to us are correct.

  • 2. We help pet owners contact their nearest Pet Crematorium to arrange the funeral if they wish to attend, and if they also wish to see their pet before cremation in the chapel of rest. Yes this is possible, but is not something all owners like to do, so it totally optional.

  • 3. We give advice throughout the process.

  • 4. We offer an Order of Service if you wish to attend your pets funeral and advise on suitable prayers, poems and tributes.

  • 5. We transfer the necessary funds direct to either your vets practice or to the Pet Crematorium. Some pets die at home so it is possible for owners to deliver them direct to the pet crematorium.

  • 6. We hope to make this painful but necessary process as easy and worry free as possible for owners.

  • Aims:

  • To help fund your pet's funeral either by part or completely

  • To make it known that it is possible to attend your pets funeral and even to visit your pet in the crematoriums chapel of rest prior to cremation.

  • How Bonnie's Rainbow Bridge Fund Started

  • Bonnie was a puppy farm pup. She was continually ill due to her bad start in life. In January 2015 she was diagnosed with SARDS and lost her sight within 2 weeks. After being tested for Cushings Disease the tests were positive. She was put onto meds to control the Cushings and was coping very well. I wasn't in a position to fund the expensive treatment and meds that she needed to give her a good quality of life and euthanasia was the only option, but her followers on Twitter helped support her treatment, for which I will always be so grateful as they gave her a few extra years.

  • However, she contract IMHA which is an aggressive disease that attacks the body's red blood cells. She became very ill on 7th September 2015 and died the following day at the age of only 7years. There was nothing that could be done to save her.

  • Bonnie had raised considerable amounts of money for various animal charities on social media during her short life, and she was loved by so many with over 5,000 followers on Twitter. I wanted to give something back. Not just to all those wonderful people that gave her a few extra months of life, but to everyone who needed help. So I came up with Bonnie's Rainbow Bridge Fund.

  • Losing a beloved pet is very traumatic, but finding yourself in the position where you don't have the funds to pay for an individual cremation is terrible. I have been in that position in the past myself. Bonnie's Rainbow Bridge Fund can help pet owners when they need it most.

  • Many vets don't know that owners can attend their pets funeral, and if some of them do, they are usually too busy to mention it to owners at the time of euthanasia. So the pet is left at the vets and a week or so after the owners receive a box of ashes. It all seems very brutal and upsetting. It doesnt have to be that way, Bonnie's Rainbow Bridge Fund can help.

  • We work with your vet to make the necessary arrangements and to discuss funding. We can't help by giving you the money directly, we have to deal directly with your vet, part or full payment is then made direct to the vet or the pet crematorium.  Requests for help are given to those that need financial help the most and is not available to everyone. We are supported by donations and fund raising, and so have limited funds. So to be able to offer this service we do need to be careful so that our service isn't abused by those that can easily afford a funeral for their pet. We hope you understand this.

  • Sadly we can only do this within the United Kingdom, but for pet owners overseas we can advise on how to set up a 'donation page' using sites such as youcaring.com or GoFundMe.com. This is known as 'crowd funding' and is very popular these days and is used by many people to raise money that they need to cover many crisis they face in life when they need help most  and it is very successful. We can also advice people within the United Kingdom how to set up a donation page if they feel they'd rather do that than come to us for financial help. Bonnies Rainbow Bridge Fund will not be responsible for fund raising on individual donation pages and can only advise how to set one up.

  • You are probably reading this because you have lost your beloved pet, please accept my sincere condolences, and I hope that Bonnie's Rainbow Bridge Fund can help make things a little easier for you.
